The ESWC Regulation Committee has published the DotA Allstars rules and regulations, revealing that the competition will be played on 6.48b and in Extended League mode (-xl).

Also in the rules are various hero and item restrictions. Most of the new heroes are banned, while items such as Necronomicon, Refresher Orb and Guinsoo are limited. Players are also allowed to buy limited items for their team mates (mostly restricted to consumables) and allowed to share limited items with team mates (mostly restricted to regenerative items such as Ring of Health).
