Valve's ARG-inspired Portal updates has reached its inevitable conclusion: the announcement of Portal 2 (seriously, what else were we expecting?).
According to Valve, Portal 2 will be released "this holiday season". It is a "stand-alone, full-priced sequel" and will be available on both PC and Xbox 360.
The recent patch released on 2 March (Singapore time) for Portal has added a mystifying “Changed radio transmission frequency to comply with federal and state spectrum management regulations” update.
An undescribed new Portal achievement, called "Transmission Received", was also added.
Users have discovered that this Portal update is in fact, an Alternate Reality Game (ARG) designed by Valve. Here is a summary of the ARG so far (taken from this Steam forum post):
Square Enix has announced that the closed beta for the PC version of Final Fantasy XIV will be launching on 11 March, just two days after Final Fantasy XIII's English release.
Only a very limited number of beta testers will be selected from the pool of players who opted-into the beta back in December, although more invites will continue to be given out as the beta progresses.
